We're hoping Square Enix remedies this by offering a full demonstration at this year's press conference, showcasing the enhancements that Eidos Montreal has made to combat, stealth, and exploration. What We Hope To See At E3Īside from its initial reveal trailer and several screenshots, no actual gameplay has been shown of Shadow of the Tomb Raider. He described the future reveal as new, interesting, and very surprising for Tomb Raider fans. In a recent interview with GamesBeat, Eidos Montreal studio head David Anfossi teased that they'll be divulging more details on what differentiates Shadow of the Tomb Raider from past games. With Shadow of the Tomb Raider's release in September, it's likely we'll see much more of the game at Square Enix's E3 2018 press conference on June 11. In terms of mechanics, Shadow of the Tomb Raider sports a few key additions to the series, including revamped swimming controls for underwater exploration as well as more sophisticated stealth and AI systems. The game is being touted as the darkest adventure Lara has been on yet, with developers mentioning that there will be far more drama and internal conflict than past games. During this expedition, Lara accidentally sets off a Mayan apocalypse, which thrusts her on a journey to save the world. However, Trinity, a paramilitary organization that tried to hunt down Lara in the previous game, is also seeking the relic for its own gain. You once again play as Lara Croft, who is on an expedition to Latin America in search of a Mayan relic.

And, while I think I had a different approach in this year's draft, there are certainly plenty of question marks with my roster – in part because I went in the opposite direction from last year's draft, doubling up on running backs early on.Ĭhristian McCaffrey was my first pick at No. That's not an indictment of the zero-RB strategy, of course, as much as an indictment of my faith in big names with big injury question marks. One of the worst drafts I've ever done, to be honest. I went with a zero-RB build and ended up with Mike Williams as my only WR to finish the season as a top-50 guy, which is truly disastrous. I opened with Travis Kelce from the sixth position, and then proceeded to select, in order, Michael Thomas, Patrick Mahomes, Julio Jones, and Curtis Samuel. I'd say from your selection, I'd pick the 85 f/1.8G if it was for portraits. If you plan to go Nikon Z system anytime in the future, you'd have to be aware that it has the "screw drive" AF which will not work with the FTZ adapter, at least not in the current version. It has a different rendering from the newer "G" version, but is still a very nice portrait lens IMHO (from what I see on the Net, I've never owned it). The Nikkor 85 f/1.4 D was dubbed "cream machine", and for a reason. But then you say you don't want a Sigma, so that's that. It's a great lens for close-up headshots in my experience (but not as sharp as newer offerings). Problem is it's really only sharp at close ranges (at least in my experience), but has some really creamy bokeh wide open. (Samples at f/1.2: and ).Īnother lens that comes to my mind is the "old" 50mm f/1.4 HSM Sigma, before they released the "Art" version. Bokeh is not the creamiest there is but I really like it, it's got a very "old school" kind of "onion" bokeh found in some of the AI-era lenses. Why did you rule out the 50 f/1.2 Nikkor? It's a fantastic lens, extremely sharp when stopped down with a dreamy look wide open. I'm sure you know it's a manual lens, but it's becoming my favorite lens. It takes some getting used to, but the output The Nikon is a very good lens but the Voigtlander is about as good of a lensĪs you will find for the price. I can only vouch for the Voigtlander 58mm and the Nikon 85 1.8G. Used Sigma 35 or 50mm 1.4 ART lenses would be my choice The 58mm 1.4G has closer to the bokeh output that I like but it's way out of the price range to justify it. The Voigtlander and Zeiss have hard edges on the bokeh balls from the samples I've seen and I'm not totally sure about that. Prefer not to get a Sigma lens or the 50mm 1.2 Nikkor. Mostly looking for good bokeh out of the lens and decent sharpness. Manual focus isn't an issue but it might be a little harder at 85mm. So I've somewhat narrowed it down to these. I already own the 105mm DC and love the output, but it's a bit long and I'd like something I can get a little closer with. So I've done some research and wanted to get 1.4 lens that's in the mid range, but there's a lot of options at this price point and wanted to get some insight from people who may have had a couple of the lenses. |
